Mobile Food Pantry
Each month since September 2014, Mohegan Sun has partnered with United Way of Southeastern CT to host a Mobile Food Pantry distribution at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich. An average of 10-12 Team Members volunteer to staff the food pantry for 1.5 hours each month.
Winter Coat Drive
Each November since 2014, Team Members have donated gently used coats, hats, scarves and mittens to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut. Each year��s drive brings in an average of 100 coats/winter items to keep those in need warm during the winter.
Tommy Toy Fund Toy Drive
Each December since 2015, Team Members have donated new unwrapped toys for local children in Southeastern CT to open on Christmas morning. An average of 400 toys are donated each year. Also, at least 40 Team Members volunteer each year to help clean, decorate, organize and distribute the toys to families in the Norwich area.
Back to School Supply Drive
For the past 2 years (since 2017) in August, Team Members have donated new school supplies to the United Way of Southeastern Connecticut, and ultimately to schools in our community. On average, 400 back to school items have been collected each year.
Hospice Walk
Held each May at Mohegan Park in Norwich. Sponsored by Mohegan Sun, all money raised at the Walk helps the Center for Hospice Care in Norwich provide end-of-life care and programs that enhance the quality of life for terminally ill patients and their loved ones in Southeastern CT. Additionally, Mohegan Sun volunteers help plan and staff the event and donate raffle prizes.
United Way Day of Caring
Each Spring since 2002, an average of 20-100 Team Members have worked together donating their time and labor to local projects to benefit our local United Way organizations and agencies. Projects have included painting, construction, landscaping and much more.
March of Dimes March for Babies
An average of 10-20 Team Members have volunteered at the event over the years. Additionally, designated Blue Jeans for Babies days have been held each year during which Team Members can wear jeans to work in exchange for a small donation to the organization. Last year, Team Members raised a combined total of over $7,000 during our blue jeans fundraisers and have raised an average of $1,000 during previous year��s fundraisers.
United Way Reading Days
Each March and October since 2016, Team Members have visited elementary schools in Southeastern CT and read to local children. An average of 10-15 Team Members have volunteered at each event over the years.
Over the Edge for Special Olympics
Held each year since 2010, this public event sends individuals to the top of the Sky Tower to rappel down all 30+ stories to raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut! Last year our team raised over $17,000 for the organization. Between 10-30 Team Members have participated in the event each year.

Disability inclusion at Mohegan Sun is about more than hiring people with disabilities. Our inclusive workplace values all Team Members for their strengths. Placement and Transitional Program Partners
Norwich School District, Norwich Transition Academy, Montville High School, Waterford High School and Ledyard High School, Mitchell College, L.E.A.R.N., Southeastern Employment, The ARC New London, United Cerebral Palsy (UCP), Vista Vocational, Sound Community Services.
The average placement rate for these kinds of programs hovers around 50% and the rate for BRS (Bureau of Rehab Services State of CT.) is about 40%. Here at Mohegan Sun currently we are nearly 80% placement.
